Tasks:

​

1) Draw a spider diagram or make a poster to explain what the subject of 'GEOGRAPHY' means to you. What do you think you might be studying? Which elements seems the most important? Challenge – Can you add annotations to explain your ideas? Bring it to your first lesson.

​

2) Create a ‘memory map’ (a map of a place and its key features drawn from memory) to represent ‘the place you call home’. The map can be hand drawn or computer generated, it can contain photos, drawings, labels, colour coding and key, magazine or leaflet cuttings. Be creative to show what this place mean to you? Ideas of what to include:- buildings, streets, places that you use, places that are important to you or the community, green spaces. Consider showing parts you use more regularly or that mean more to you more prominently on your map. Hint –Start by drawing your key feature (possibly your home or another important place to you in the middle of the page.
